Budget Trucks — Penalty recovery to an all-time high

Budget Trucks rents moving trucks across Australia, to people who search once, book, and are gone — there is no browsing season and no brand loyalty to fall back on. In October 2013 its organic traffic fell off a cliff, from around 3,800 sessions a week to around 1,300. A 66% loss, and it stayed there for roughly twelve months. Diagnosing and remediating that took the site back past where it had been before the drop: by the end of November 2014 organic traffic was running near 5,700 sessions a week — higher than any point in the three years on record, above both the January 2013 peak and the pre-penalty average. The note written on the report at the time reads "the past 3 weeks have been the best 3 weeks ever for Budget Trucks".
