When the work started the site was not just flat, it was sliding: traffic was running 40% below the same period a year earlier. Twelve months later that same year-over-year comparison read plus 40% — an 80-point swing in the growth rate, and a clean crossover in the analytics where the current year's line passes above the previous year's in spring 2013 and stays there. Measured across a full calendar comparison once the recovery had taken hold, January to October 2013 finished 14.7% ahead of the same months in 2012 on visits, and 18.3% ahead on unique visitors.
